Women and medicine

Women and Medicalization: “Women have been the main targets for the expansion of medicine and that women’s health in the contemporary period is being jeopardized by male controlled, technology-dominated medical care system.”  Do you believe that this would have occurred if these men had not had “previous religious justifications for patriarchy” which they then transferred to the field of medicine? If they feel that they have patriarchal responsibility toward women then why do women, statistically, get the short end of the stick when it comes to medical care?
